1/27/2024 0 Comments Rrisd smart tag bus![]() There are a few pieces of information that we shared with the students and I wanted to make sure you were aware of this information as well:ġ. The same process is followed when they exit the bus. As students enter the bus, they will simply tap their card against a screen that logs them onto the bus. We are excited to have this extra level of safety and security for our students who ride the bus. Their parents should have received communication from RRISD explaining all about this system. This week, all students who ride the bus received a Smart Tag. We use the data from these assessments to target instruction towards areas of weakness in preparation for the actual STAAR assessment later this year. Please encourage your children to do their very best. We are also looking forward to 6th and 7th grade STAAR Interim assessments. We will have our last basketball game against Hernandez boys' teams on Monday and encourage everyone to come out to Stony Point and cheer on our Hornets. ![]() The disruption of delivering them to classes interrupts the learning environment for all students. Looking forward to next week, please remember that we do not take deliveries for students on Valentine's Day. We finished out the week with WOW Friday with lots of enrichment opportunities for students to choose from. We are doing so well! It just goes to show you that with hard work and determination anything is possible. Two of our talented students are going to state for their Reflections submissions. Wassmuth and the students were evaluated and they represented Hopewell so well. Our dance team scored the highest possible scores in their evaluation last week. Such a mature subject matter and our kids were wonderful in communicating the desperation to the audience. This play portrayed how Yellow Fever affected communities and orphaned many children. Friday night, my husband and I attended advanced theater's performance of Cemetery No. We had a big crowd and I enjoyed meeting both parents and students who will join us next year. Thursday night we welcomed our incoming sixth-grade parents. ![]() My mom couldn't believe it was a middle school performance and kept saying, "This is more like a high school level show!" I agree. The costumes, singing, set design and performance were great. I am always so proud and, well, stunned really, at the talent we have at Hopewell. First, my mom and I attended The Sound of Music on Wednesday night.
